ABOUT

Nationally and internationally recognised including most recently awarded as a finalist for her Roller Derby Series in the 2011 CCP Documentary Photography awards, photographer Christina Simons has worked in the film & photography industry for over thirteen years.

Partly Icelandic, partly American, Christina’s unusual heritage drives her exploration of sub-cultures and marginalised people’s, leading to exhibitions throughout Australia. Her work traverses many interests including travel, documentary, lifestyle and portraiture, and has appeared in the likes of The New York Times and The Times in the UK, to The Big Issue and various magazines world wide.

Christina’s passion for human rights and civil liberties led to projects such as the Haiti Project 2006, women’s health in the Philippines and Aboriginal education in the Northern Territory.
